Colum Tyrrell
Colum Tyrrell was born and raised in Ireland. When Tyrrell started his career in Dublin his talents quickly became known in the Irish circuit as he became a finalist in the national broadcast TV show RTE New Comedy Awards.
In the same year he won the new act competition Show Me The Funny. In 2013 he made his debut at the Galway Comedy Festival supporting Kevin Bridges.
Colum has played Electric Picnic and The Iveagh Gardens Comedy Festival and supported Jason Byrne, Lee Mack, Steve Hughes and Andrew Maxwell.
He has appeared on RTE’s Republic of Telly and was chosen as one of the main subjects of the TV3 documentary The Stand Up’s.
His debut Edinburgh Fringe Festival show (2016), received critical acclaim including a 4 star review from The Scotsman and him being quoted as “A new Jim Jefferies in the making”.
Colum has started to gain significant recognition in the New York comedy industry and can now be seen performing at prestigious clubs such as Carolines, The Stand & Stand-up NY..
In 2019 he performed at Skankfest and opened for Ari Shaffir at The Comedy Cellar. He is host of the weekly podcast Big Dogs.
